Pen Mistakes

by Chelsea

What do you do when you use a pen to draw and you make a mistake?

Great question Chelsea. Often, I prefer using a pen or marker to a pencil as it forces me NOT to erase. It's as though I'm almost looking to make mistakes as I know it will only help with improving at drawing.

Making mistakes is a good thing, and it will help you progress. With each mistake you make - you learn a little bit more about your own style, and well... what not to do next time around.

In short, if you make a mistake while drawing with a pen - great! Don't erase it. Either start over, or keep right on going. In time, with practice, you'll be more happy with the results.

Hope this helps!

Jeff :-)

Pen and People
by: Hansu

I agree. People are my favorite thing to draw and I often will use an eraser every time I make a mistake. It's easy to fix things up this way. That's why I usually use a pencil.

Sometimes I'll use a pen though. And when I do, I either start over or continue my drawing when I mess up. I agree. With time if you keep practicing drawing not being afraid of making mistakes, you will get better and make less of them.
