Is good drawing necessary in fashion designing today?

I am interested in fashion designing. I'd like to be a designer but I find that my drawing is not up to the mark. It's not as fantastic as I'd like it to be.
But still, I am trying hard and I wanted to ask about what level of drawing is necessary for fashion designing in today's world of computers.
Hello,
Good question! Here's what I suggest...
If you want to get better at drawing with respect to drawing people for fashion designing, then first - it is ideal to improve at drawing people as they would look in real life.
There are many art classes and books available for this. Really though, if it's your dream to be a fashion designer - and you're as dedicated as you sound, than make practicing drawing people a bigger part of your life.
Carry a sketchbook with you at all times. Practice drawing people in different poses, and wearing different clothes. And keep pressing forward!
Keep in mind that many people are at different levels with respect to their drawing abilities. It's easy to get discouraged along the way and give up. If you're persistent though - if you keep at it no matter what... you will get better.
The beauty of it, is that we often don't even know we're improving, as we're so busy doing/practicing something we love. One day, you'll look up from the paper and say - "Wow... my artwork's getting better!"
It's a magical feeling, but truthfully - it only comes with hard work.
Sure, there are computer programs that can make things easier, but I really don't think there's a substitute for putting the pencil to the paper, and practicing.
I came across the following site that you might find to be of help. It'll give you a nice breakdown of what you need to know about drawing for fashion design.

Good luck!
