Hungry Eagle

by Karl Hegwein
(USA)

Before I drew this picture I was on this website and I was thinking about many different animals to draw.

When I couldn't think of anything to draw I started making lines and it started to look like a bird so I stuck with it and added more things to the picture.

The bird is supposed to look like he's about to eat the worm while another bird is trying to eat it.

I like it. Pretty neat. Looking at it is making me hungry... Just kidding! I would never eat a worm! :) Well, anyway, pretty cool...

Hey Karl
by: Jeff

Nice job Karl. The eagle definitely looks like it wants that worm!

Here's a tip to help you bring out your image even more so...

If you look at any eagle's head, you'll notice a jagged edge at the neck... the ruffle of feathers indicating the transition from head to body. To help bring this out, make your lines here more jagged/pointy - just like a zig-zag.

Another thing - draw a line to mark off the beak. A simple curved one will do. This way, the beak can easily be colored yellow or orange and will only further bring out your character.

Finally - and yes - the tongue is a great touch!... see if you can move the tongue back a little bit more to the corner of the mouth. Test it out as it will look more connected - emerging from the bird's throat.

Hope this helps!

Jeff :-)
