Yup - let's hop to it... let's learn how to draw the Easter Bunny!

April's a time for many things - Spring is on the way, the birds begin to chirp... the days get sunnier!... and yes -- the Easter Bunny makes his rounds delivering everyone's favorite chocolate eggs, and other Easterish-type snacks.

On with the lesson...

First Step - How to Draw the Easter Bunny -- A Guide

First thing's first. Before we begin drawing his head - starting with the eyes, you might want to sketch out a simple guideline to work from ahead of time. A rough sketch of the bunny's basic shapes will do nicely - or if you like - something more generic like what follows here...

Here's how to draw a simple guideline...

How to draw the Easter Bunny - a simple framework How to draw the Easter Bunny - a developed framework

Of course, this lesson is simple enough that you might want to try it without a framework. I recommend you try it with and without... but yes - it's always nice to get the proportion nailed down earlier on so you can focus on the details and creativity. Then, later on (because you will be practicing lots more!!) - you can go back and do the drawing a few more times, stylizing your lines to make it your own.

And now... let's draw the Easter Bunny!

Second Step - How to Draw the Head of Your Bunny

Beginning with the eyes and nose, go ahead and draw the head of your Easter Bunny. Get creative and change his look as you progress so it looks all the more unique. Longer ears, smaller eyes, bigger 'buck teeth'... see what you can come up with!

Here's how to draw the head...

Looking pretty funny up to this point, mine is. How about yours? Did you make him look cuter? Meaner? You can easily go for a cuter look by giving your Easter Bunny a smaller nose and mouth, and making sure there's little to no neck in site. You might even want to make his ears floppy like a lop-eared rabbit.

Got your Easter Bunny's head drawn? Great! Let's get drawing his body now...

Third Step - Draw the Body of Your Easter Bunny

In this case, drawing the body of your Easter Bunny is a little bit tricky because we need to account for his basket of eggs. It appears in front of the rabbit, obstructing the view of some of his belly and left arm - oh - and his left foot too.

Using the example below though, I think you'll have a better idea for how to go about making everything look right...

And there you have it. Once you've gone through each of the above steps - I'd say you pretty well know how to draw the Easter Bunny! Of course - and as always -- I recommend you try the lesson again a few times. Change parts so it fits you more. Be unique and creative along the way as that's what it's all about. And have fun too! :-)

Congrats on a very nice job... That's how to draw the Easter Bunny!
