How to Draw Megaman

Learning how to draw Megaman, short - cute - and symmetrically aligned, like the one you see above - is pretty easy to do. And of course - if you're a huge fan of this character - then fueled by passion... he'll be that much easier to draw! :-)

By the way - did you know that in Japan, Megaman is actually called 'Rockman'!?

Let's draw this cool-looking Capcom/Nintendo character!

First Step - Which Features to Include? Use Shapes!!

Really simple to layout ahead of time, go ahead and lightly sketch out a framework from which to draw your character. The big 'chibi-like' head can be outlined with a simple circle. The other parts fall into place like so...

Pretty simple so far isn't it? Remember - this step is optional. If you think you can go straight to the drawing portion - then of course... do! I always include this step to help map out the blueprint so you can focus more on creativity during the lesson.

And speaking of which - let's get going!

Second Step - How to Draw Megaman

You can draw in his eyes first - but it might be easier if you outline his face before-hand. This way, you can easily position his eyebrows/eyes in place, just below the top of his helmet line.

OK - here it is...

Those 'whites' around his eyes make all the difference in the world - don't they! That's the thing when drawing 'animeish' sorts of drawings. Those eyes will either make or break the look you're going for.

Something else to add... given this simple likeness to the character - you can now change things up in so many ways to have your drawing take on the many different looks/colors/weapons as seen throughout the games.

You're done!
