How to Draw a Teddy Bear
Learning how to draw a teddy bear - simple, like the one you see above, really is quite easy to do. Given the idea of using a framework, here we can simplify our bear into a series of ovals and circles.
Let's get started, beginning with a guideline...
First Step - Draw a Framework for Your Teddy Bear
To draw the framework, start with a centerline - and then... go ahead and slowly map out the various shapes (head, arms, body, etc.) that will compose it.
Here's how it looks...
Feel free to change these shapes now. In doing so, you will pleased to see that you can come up with a number of different looks for your bear - as truly, it all comes down to the size and arrangement of these shapes.
Satisfied with your framework? Great, let's keep going...
Second Step - How to Draw a Teddy Bear, Step by Step
Beginning with its head, go ahead and draw your bear step by step, using the examples below to help you progress. Oh - and to give your bear that 'fluffy' sort of look... see if you can use 'squiggly' lines like I did instead.
It's simple changes like this that make all the difference in a drawing!
Looking above at the finished drawing - you can see that although it looks like a teddy bear, it really doesn't have much character. It's simple and generic, and really - that's OK because it is after all- a stuffed animal!
BUT - you can make alterations in your drawing to make even more unique. Why not give your bear some 'cartoon eyes' and some clothing... now you've got a cool-looking brand new character!
Hope you enjoyed the lesson! :-)
