Horse and Rider

I just drew this today. I am going through a book called "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain". In this exercise, I drew this picture upside-down. This moves the mind away from left-brain, into a right-brain modality. Then I could see the image from an artist's point of view. The left-side gets bored since it can't really understand the pieces, being upside down. The right side is excellent with spatial and shapes, since there is no verbal or language needed.
This took me around an hour or so to finish. I did a lot of erasing as I went. By doing small parts at a time, and seeing where they interact, the scale is maintained quite easily. while it's not a perfect photocopy of the original I drew, it's rather close, and I'm impressed with what I did. Right now, I just practice on my own as I cannot afford to go to an art school. Perhaps later I will pick up some freelance jobs, but first need to get my skills more up to par with the intense competition out there.
