Some tips!...
by: Jeff

Hi Emily - cool dragon! ;-)

I can tell you stuck close to the tutorial with this. Nice work. It's a fun one for sure... dragons are great as you can do pretty much whatever you like.

Looking at your result, I really like how you've incorporated the details. One thing that's difficult for some - is carrying through to the end - as when the proportion gets offline... it can be discouraging to continue.

BUT!...

I think for sure - if you drew this again a couple times (yes practice and repetition is the key)... you'll become more comfortable with the layout - the framework - the structure... and in turn - will be more comfortable with branching off on your own. Two heads, larger wings (yes - it's tough to incorporate wings of true size/scale sometimes... the wings in this lesson should be bigger - but due to the size of the working space, I made them a bit smaller)... and for sure - keep going!

Anyway, next time through - do a few rough pencil sketches of the shapes which compose the framework. Don't draw the lines until you're happy with the positioning. And don't worry about erasing... quick, whispy free-flowing lines.

Keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing some more.

Jeff :-)
