Embrace Your Passion for Drawing!

Are you passionate about drawing?

Being able to create cartoons or anything for that matter is totally possible. And so is improving your current skill level. All you need to do is decide, "YES, I want to do it!" And of course, you've already done that. After all, you're here!

I strongly believe that it's our passion for something that is responsible for many of the successes we have in life. So, if you want to be successful at something, then of course... you've got to love it!

Love to Draw

In my case, drawing IS my passion. Ever since I've been able to hold a pencil, it's been something I just loved doing. And it's this passion that keeps me going. Passion is what gets me and everyone who shares it to pick up our pencils and put them to the paper...

...it's the "driving force" as we press on forward, persistent and determined to succeed.

The late Calvin Coolidge once said:

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

This is a very insightful idea. And it's excellent because it directly applies to drawing. Simply put, if you are determined enough to learn and improve, then you will be persistent enough to "press on". And this of course, is where practice comes in.

Practice makes perfect right? Of course it does. This is something we've all been told our entire lives, and it's the absolute truth. If your goal is to get better at something, then you need to practice. Period.

The more you practice, the more mistakes you make. The more mistakes you make, the better you understand where, how, and why you went wrong. The more you understand, the more you will learn. And the more you learn - especially on your own accord, the better you will become at it!

But wait! What about passion? Isn't that what's most important?

While practice through determination and persistence is necessary to succeed, it's your passion for what you are doing that makes it all the more possible. So, if you love what you're doing, then practicing will actually be fun! It won't feel like work, but instead it will feel like play. In the end, it will be much easier for you to both learn and improve.

And so...

There's really no limit as to how much practice you can and should do. So, if you want to learn and improve, then you know exactly what to do! Pick up your pencil... and get at it!

The fact that you're here at this website proves that you have the spark. And it's the spark that becomes the passion - the very driving force that will ultimately lead you to success.
