i was watching monsters vs aliens, when this ideal picture came into my head. so i grabbed a piece of paper and a pencil and just started drawing what i could see in my head.

That's what it's all about Jen. Can't tell you how many times I've done the same. Like with the Cloverfield lesson here on the site, an inspiration after seeing the movie (and not really knowing exactly what it looked like!).

But yes - lots of inspiration in film. Keep it up! :-)
