Issue #011 -- One Year Online!

December 1st, 2008 marks the one-year anniversary of How-to-Draw-Cartoons-Online.com. Makes for a great time to celebrate!

This and more in Issue #11 of Draw Cartoons Today!.

Here's a brief overview...

1. Celebrating One Year Online!

2. Coloring Pages

3. Your Drawing Tips

4. New Lesson Category & Drawing Lessons

OK, let's begin. First up - celebrating one year online!...

1. Celebrating One Year Online!

How-to-Draw-Cartoons-Online.com saw its official launch date exactly one year ago.

Looking back, I've gotta say - making this site really has been a lot of fun. But even more so, it's knowing that the lessons and information help that makes it really worth the while.

To celebrate the occasion, I thought it would be neat to introduce some new areas to the site.

And same as you read up top, let's cover both of them: a brand new Coloring Pages section, as well as a new interactive Drawing Tips area...

2. Coloring Pages

Coloring pages! Gotta love 'em.

Great for parents and teachers, or for anyone who loves to color.

Based on drawing lessons and some of the other drawings you'll see at How-to-Draw-Cartoons-Online.com, feel free to download, print and use these activities - so long as it's for non-commercial purposes. :-)

The plan for this section is to begin with the Animals, as most definitely - this category will be most popular. But, if you're interested in seeing some of the others appear sooner, you can always send me a message.

Currently, there are four pages up in the Animals section: Butterfly, Fish, Turkey, and Turtle - with more to come of course. I'd appreciate it if you could take the time to print one out. Please let me know what you think.

Hope you enjoy them! :-)

3. Your Drawing Tips

As I'm sure you're already aware - there is a Drawing Tips section on the site that offers further help with drawing cartoons.

And while this section will continue to grow, I'd also like to hear about what you have to say. And this goes, whether it be a question you have, an answer you'd like to provide, or even by sharing your knowledge about a specific category of interest.

The answer? A new place on the site to help and be helped with respect to learning how to draw. It won't go 'live' right away however. First, I'd like to gather some input about what you'd like to see in this area. And to do so, I've created a quick and simple question form.

The 'Your Cartoon Drawing Tips' section will be up and running on December 15th, 2008. In the mean time, I invite you to please head over to the site to answer a few quick questions as I know your input will surely help!

4. New Lesson Category & Drawing Lessons

A big Sci-Fi fan myself, I thought it was time to open another new category. Right now you'll see a new, simple lesson - drawing 'Gort' from the 'The Day the Earth Stood Still'.

And on a final note... there are nine new drawing lessons that have been added to the site:

Sci-Fi Cartoons:
Gort

Seasonal & Christmas Cartoons:
Snowman, Reindeer, Snowflake, Gifts, Angel, Bell, Holly and Elf.

Moving into December - more lessons to come!

Again, please check out the new coloring pages when you get a chance, and also - your input regarding the new 'Your Drawing Tips' Section is greatly appreciated.

Happy Drawing!

Jeff
